In an article about Universal and their future projects, Variety reports:
…Shmuger and Linde landed Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon for a fourth “Bourne” movie, even though the director and star seemed ready to wrap it up after three pics.
A high-five to Chattaway for catching this.
Sheesh. I respect the Bourne series as the most consistently satisfying action franchise ever made. All three films are fantastic. Why do a fourth one? Well, there’s an obvious answer to that. But where do you take Bourne’s story from here? Focus on Julia Stiles’ character? Then how do you get Bourne’s name in the title?
Oh well, I love watching Damon, and I love Paul Greengrass’s style, so I guess I should look forward to this.

Bourne Again, perhaps?
Bourne 4: The Bourne Zoology.
Jason Bourne tracks down a wild breed of peruvian llama.
Sigh … from someone who has read the Bourne trilogy, it sure would have been nice if it had even tried to follow the story. The story in the first book is so much stronger then what the movie came up with and parts two and three only follow the books in that they have the same title.
But, I guess that’s standard fare with most book to movie adaptations.
Yeah, they were three good movies, they just should have been called something else.
