Danny Boyle could be good, if he didn't make everyone go crazy like in Sunshine.

I also think Alfonso Cuaron could do it. He's done science fiction (Children of Men) and some good kid movies too (A Little Princess and Harry Potter 3).

Very well then.

The answer is...

ALL OF THE ABOVE.

Yep.

I'm not kidding.

One of Anne's brothers named his children:

- Frederick Ender
- Isabella Daeneris
- Auralia Genesis
- Solomon Atreides Nahum
- Phinehas Resurrection (But I call him P-Rez.)

For some reason I'm thinking Phinehas. I really like that name.

And who should direct Ender's Game?

Danny Boyle.

Think about it.

And I very much like taj's suggestion of Weir. He did so well with the kids in Master & Commander.

Just to be different, I'll say Atreides. I'm a big fan of Dune.

I can think of three directors who can handle movies with kids and heavy sci/fi content: Spielberg, Jon Favreau, and M. Night Shyamalan

Auralia.

I agree with kenmorefield, I don't really want to see Ender's Game on the big screen.

I don't suppose the Dardennes would even consi....

okay back to reality land.

Maybe Tom Twyker? He certainly has the visual sense for fantasy and the ability to do action sequences without it just turning into an action movie.

My biggest fear would be that many kids on screen without it turning into cutesy kid flick....you know, I wonder if David Mamet could do it? "The Winslow Boy" is one of the more credible interactions of kids and adults and his work as producer of The Unit suggests he might be interested in military themes.

Steve Zaillain's work on "Searching for Bobby Fisher" makes me think if he was attached I might be interested.

I like some of Petersen's work, but I can't say I'm sorry to see him off this project, as his works in the last 20 years has become increasingly more about the action and less about the human beings doing it.

What the heck has Andrew Niccol been doing since "Gattaca"? (Hmmm. "Lord of War" and "Simone"--that doesn't inspire confidence...and yet, it does suggest he could handle the logistics, and, well, he hasn't used up all the good will he generated with "Gattaca."

Ender is not a book that I particularly want to see on screen, but if they are going to do it, there's four names for you that I would be curious to see how they would tackle it.

Peter Weir
